Americans for Informed Democracy, GLOBE, and Kaibigan
present a Town Hall Meeting On

"Entering the United States:
THE IMMIGRATION CONTROVERSY"

An estimated 400,000 immigrants and supporters mobilized in Chicago on May 1, 2006 to protest the proposed U.S. immigration policies. In December of last year, the House of Representatives passed a bill calling for tighter immigration control and the criminalization of illegal immigrants and anyone who provides them assistance. While recent Congressional debates have discussed easing the path to citizenship and allowing guest workers, this issue still proves to be controversial from all sides.
